Transit
A More Connected Atlanta
If you have ever walked, biked, driven, or taken MARTA in Atlanta you then know that our city is not the easiest to navigate. With a legacy of institutional racism that has spanned centuries, many of our neighborhoods remain fractured, with little investment in connectivity. As our next City Councilmember:
I will prioritize complete street design, including sidewalks, bike lanes, and ADA infrastructure in order to create a more bikeable, walkable, and accessible city for everyone.
I will work to reduce parking requirements along transit corridors to encourage alternative transit usage.
I will leverage federal dollars and private partnerships to invest in both more MARTA and Beltline Rail initiatives to expand inter-neighborhood and multi-modal connectivity, as well as to solve the “last mile problem.”
I will also strengthen partnerships with our regional transit institutions to push Atlanta to be the transit hub of the South, which I know we have the potential to be.
We cannot get any of this done if we do not better manage how our tax-payer dollars are spent. To read more about my ideas for a more transparent and ethical Atlanta, click here.
